Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born August 19th 1965. She is an American actress and producer. Her most prominent character is that of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. Sedgwick earned an award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her performance as Johnson as well as an Emmy Award 2010 for her performance. The seventh season of the series concluded on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also famous for her recurring role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for an Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's other roles in films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's The Ones (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was an New York City native, the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald) who was an educator and family therapist as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI as the venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian as well as of English origin. Sedgwick has announced that she's Jewish and participates in Passover meal times.
